Will it stay in top position until we are overtaken completely by the likes of America, Japan and other relatively insignificant players of the game or will it just become a game that mummies and daddies stop their kiddies from playing because they might get hurt for real instead of having to get pretend hurt to win a penalty?
Do I know or give a fuck? Not really as the game has already been infested by rule changes that make it nearly unwatchable for me. The stupidity of tv refs watching slow mo carnage and then determining that someone intended to foul when they are playing a contact sport and they only had a split second to react and can only obey the laws of physics (in most cases although have seen dudes do freaky shit that seem to disobey those laws) makes it just too painful to watch.
I used to care enough to want Rugby to stay at the top of the pile but now.......I just don't watch commercialized sport really at all!
